UPDATED: NO Heroes Panel at Comic Con!?
**UPDATED 9AM PST** OFFICIAL: NO Panel for Heroes, but they will be providing us with details of their “planned activities” soon. Here is the email I got from NBC, which is what we already know: Heroes will definitely have a presence at Comic-Con but we will not be doing a panel.
Ok so here it goes….this is what I know so far…
Yesterday morning, I finally was frustrated enough about not hearing ANY news from ANY source about ANY plans for Heroes at Comic Con, that I decided to make a post detailing what we knew and said that there is still time for an announcement, but that it does not look good.
I really felt it was about time I made a post to see how all of you out there felt about this knowing many of you were planning for one.
Well with in hours an article at the Chicago Tribune was posted that detailed an email from Tim Kring direct to the author of the article (Maureen Ryan) that Kring said they will definitely be there with some cast/crew and a Sneak for Season 4.
Here is the actual statement from Kring:
“I plan on being there, along with some cast and writer/producers, etc, and we’re fully expecting to have a great sneak peek at Season 4 to show. The fans that come to Comic-Con are the best, most loyal that we have. We wouldn’t miss it.”
So I updated my post, Tweeted away and told you all that guess what there will be a panel after all!!
HOWEVER, late yesterday a second article by the Chicago Tribune was posted saying that an Executive from Universal (NBC) confirmed Heroes will ONLY have a “presence” at Comic Con and not a traditional panel!?
Yes I know…WTF!? It does not make any sense once again??? So either the Executive and Kring are not on the same page, someone is misinformed OR they have something completely different planned.
Now, in previous years they had both a panel and a booth. At the booth they hand out all their marketing gear and promote the show direct on the floor, but if that is their only presence then I have no idea how they will have sneaks showing.
Last year, when LOST producers happened to sneak on to the floor and visit the Dharma booth, I was one of the lucky few to by CHANCE be there at that moment to meet, chat and take pictures with them. Of course the floor was packed and immediately fans were surrounding the place. So I can not imagine any of the cast/crew walking the floor.
So where does that leave us!?!? Well at this point unless some one clarifies what they are planning I do not know what to tell you all. Hopefully they have some thing big and surprising planned, but there is really only so much you can do when last year over 6.5K fans packed the huge hall and 1000s more were left outside waiting.
As soon as we know anything more we will let you all know. So now what do you all think!? Pissed, sad, confused, or don’t care!?
