Zachary Quinto talks Heroes

August 22nd, 2009 admin No comments

Here is an excerpt of an article from SCI FI Wire where Zachary talks a bit about his character Sylar.

Having just seen the trailer for the new season of Heroes, I had a few Sylar questions for Quinto. I asked about the carnival scenes with brand new villain Robert Knepper and how Sylar is connected to it all. “The carnival is going to be awesome,” he said. “It looks so incredible, and Robert Knepper, who plays Samuel, Ray Park, who plays Edgar and Dawn Olivieri, who plays Lydia, … these are really, really incredible actors and their characters are really multifaceted. It’s a whole new dimension for the show. I think it’s going to be incredibly exciting and really colorful and really dynamic. My involvement in it is unfolding as we speak. We’re about to start shooting episode seven, so we’ll see if I end up there or if I stay or what ends up happening to me, and I think it will be good. I think people are going to dig it. I know I am.”

Quinto also let it slip that there may be a new romantic interest for Sylar. “There are a couple of little percolations, but we’ll see if any of them take,” he teased.

When we last saw our favorite evil-doer, he had been tricked into thinking he was Nathan Petrelli. I asked Quinto about when Sylar was going to figure it all out. “It’s a long road for me to realize that,” he said. “I’ll say that. It doesn’t happen right away. And the character exists in a couple of different places this season, one of which is in Matt Parkman’s [Greg Grunberg] imagination. The other one is in Nathan’s body. So it is a long road to getting right back to who we know him as.”

In the past, Quinto has indicated that he thinks someone like Sylar is really too evil to ever be redeemed. So I wanted to know how he’d like his character ultimately to be taken out. “That’s interesting,” he said. “Those are longer-term conversations. And Tim Kring, our creator, is incredibly supportive and creatively open person, so we have those conversations from time to time about where we see the character going. I don’t know. Maybe the redemption would be in his eradication somehow. Maybe some kind of ultimate sacrifice. Or maybe just bloody and gory, … a well-deserved demise for someone who’s caused so much pain in the world of Heroes. We’ll see.”

Heroes Cast and Crew Twitter update.

August 22nd, 2009 admin No comments

Hey guys,
I’m slowly working out this blogging business, as you may or may not know by now, I am the twitter blogger. We don’t usually get huge spoilers on twitter but we get an idea of what they are doing, what they are shooting and who is involved. I have been very busy harassing several twitter members trying to get some information out of them. They seem to be pretty tight lipped:

1.Has the budget cut effected the make up sector of heroes?
A: Yeah some times.

2. Has Ashley Crow been in the make up chair lately?
A: Yeah some.

3. Will we still get Mohinder’s Dialogue at the start/end of each episode?
No reply as of yet from a writer however, James(the props guy) told me an uncertain yes. I know that may not mean as much as it would be from a writer, however, atleast i got an answer. I am a massive fan of the Dialogue at the start and end of the episodes., I Will not be happy if they remove this small feature.

Anyway to the tweet board.

Wendy - http://twitter.com/wendilynnmakeup

Just a heads up, i will try and summarise Wendy’s tweets because she is a huge poster and i’m sure you don’t want to see thousands of tweets from Wendy each time i post. So i will try and summarise what they are up to and add 2-3 really important ones to the end.

Well, as you can see below, they are filming episode 7 at the moment. This episode is supposed to have many heroes cast in it: “2 FULL UNITS TODAY! LOTS “O” HEROES IN THE HOUSE TODAY!” . Wendy did then specify “Ray Park, ZQ, Claire Bear, and many more…”.

Looks Like an interesting combination there, hopefully Claire’s storyline isn’t as segregated as it seems in the promo.

I would just like to thank wendy for all the hard work she does + keeping the fans updated on what is happening on a daily basis. Thanks wendy keep up good work.

Oliver - http://twitter.com/OliverGrigsby

You guys might not know what breaking the story means so i asked him to explain: “Break story” is a term used to describe the process of planning/plotting the story arc for an episode or season”

Also you can check out the conclusion of the Rebellion Arc for the Graphic Novels here: http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/novels/novels_display.shtml?novel=142

Or if you are lazy/too busy to read/ interest is capped *raises hand* and just wanna read the gist of whats happening, The low down is here: http://heroeswiki.com/Rebellion%2C_Part_7

James - http://twitter.com/JamesProps

The above picture was posted by James, it’s interesting. I have my theories but will comment after i see what you guys think below.

Well that’s it for the couple of days. Below are links to the heroes cast and crew twitters. If there are any there out there that are aren’t on the list, Please let me know so i can follow and keep the rest of the fans updated.

Before signing off i was just curious: What is your favourite intro monologue and why? This is one of my favourite, from homecoming:

“We are, if anything, creatures of habit. Drawn to the safety and comfort of the familiar. But what happens when the familiar becomes unsafe? When the fear that we have desperately been trying to avoid finds us where we live.”

I love this quote because you see it in everyday life, in high school, in the job community, at university… Everywhere you look, people are seeking acceptance, the need to fit in and be like the rest. I would love to see this routine shook up a bit and see how the people react when their Familiar environment is disrupted.

Take care guys,
Cya in the next couple of days.

Greg Grunberg interviewed by Comics Alliance

August 22nd, 2009 admin No comments

Greg was Interviewed by Comics Alliance about the new direction of next season. A little snipit below:

“With a show like ‘Heroes,’ the first season is a discovery process for the audience and for the characters,” said Grunberg.” To get that wow factor back is really a tough thing, so in the second season they tried something completely new. It didn’t work for a lot of people, where everyone was a superhero and they opened up the gates to the asylum and all the crazies came out.”

Interesting read, no major new spoilers.

Latest scoop on Parkman

August 22nd, 2009 admin No comments

Following comes from this week’s TV Guide’s Mega Buzz.

Have any scoop on Heroes? — Tyler
ADAM:
Matt Parkman will try his best to just be a detective/family man, but he’s got a little devil sitting on his shoulder trying to convince him to be more, thanks to his part in the Sylar-Nathan mind meld. “The evil part of Sylar got stuck in my subconscious, and he is slowly gaining control over me,” Greg Grunberg tells me. “I have a feeling that he’s going to make Matt do things that he would never, ever do in a million years.” You mean like putting the show’s fate in the hands of a bunch of carnies?

August 22nd, 2009 admin No comments

Come and challenge Zachary Quinto to a game and keep the arcades alive.

Zachary Quinto and STRIDE launch “Save the Arcades” on August 19, 2009 at Video West Arcade, a local Glendale arcade. “Save the Arcades” focuses on saving an endangered and beloved species - the arcade. STRIDE recently learned that the long lasting tradition of arcade gaming was in jeopardy when multiple iconic arcades were in danger of closing. With its long-standing commitment of supporting the gaming community, STRIDE decided to take action and support the passions of their chewers.

As a longtime fan of arcades, Zachary will be on hand to help STRIDE raise awareness for this important cause and keep the dream alive for gamers everywhere. He will pose for photographs, interact with employees and go head-to-head with local consumers on classic arcade games.

The event kicks off the “Save the Arcades” campaign in which STRIDE will feature profiles of four iconic arcades from around the country on the “Save the Arcades” website, www.savethearcades.com. Consumers can visit the site and play an arcade-style video game, with their points scored benefitting the featured arcade of their choice. At the end of the campaign, the arcade that has earned the most points, as determined by participating consumers, will be declared the winner and receive $25,000 courtesy of STRIDE gum.

To further kick off the campaign, STRIDE also recently saved an arcade! After STRIDE discovered that a Philadelphia-area arcade (Challenge Arcade) was within days of closing down, they decided to help by providing $10,000 to ensure that Challenge will stay in business and continue to offer gaming goodness, world record events and tournaments to the community.
